In this DOT Compliance Tip, we’ll again focus on the CVSA’s upcoming Brake Safety Week. During the week of September 11-14, 2016, CVSA member agencies and many State law enforcement officers will conduct their annual focused roadside inspections of truck brakes.
Law enforcement officers around the country will be targeting “loose or missing parts, air or hydraulic fluid leaks, worn linings, pads, drums or rotors, and other faulty brake system components”.
Violations of 393.47E Clamp/Roto-Chamber Type Brakes Out of Adjustment is consistently at the top of the most received vehicle violations. Focus on brake adjustment in EVERY pre-trip inspection!
